About Bago-Bago Museo

The BAGO-BAGO Museo Project is led by four college students from iACADEMY who aim to preserve the history of the country’s anthropology through modern-day advancements. In this project, 3D photogrammetry is the primary medium to visualize a few of the many artifacts from the National Museum of the Philippines. This provides better access to information, bringing pieces of the exhibit closer to users across the web.

Hello ^^)/ I contributed to this website with the Bago-Bago identity and logo alongside with 3D models.

Hi! I love designing layouts, so I made sure to make the website aesthetically pleasing. <3

I am part of the web design for this capstone project. I also really love history, so this is a dream project for me.

Photogrammetry

Photogrammetry is a process of creating precise 3D models by stitching a series of photos of an object together. Numerous photos of an object capturing numerous angles, all different from one another yet closely together as possible, that will serve as data for the program (Reality Scan) to stitch these images seamlessly together from 2D data to 3D data. Avoid jumping from one angle to a farther angle as it would confuse the program and troubleshooting or a reshoot is required. Then optimized in Blender to decrease load time for the website.

Logo

BAGO-BAGO Museo is our identity that connects with our cause. It is a homonym that means two words, “New” and “Before.”

First, we have the object's silhouette, which shows its physical presence. Next, it will be transported through the use of a shutter where the researchers will gather multiple shots in order to have sufficient data that bridges towards digitalization that correlates to the third and last element of the logo: The Vertices of the physical object. It is where we preserve the object in the digital realm as our final output to display here on our website.

We emphasize that our past will be imbued with modern technology that insinuates as the "New" while the historical artifacts are the "Before.”

With modern technology, we can introduce our historical artifacts through photogrammetry to help preserve our culture digitally.

Design

The colors of our project stems from the colors of the Philippine Flag, which make up for both our light and dark modes. The Philippine Flag is a symbol of pride and heritage, which we want to showcase proudly in our website. We chose muted yet contrasting colors to make it easier on the eyes.

The fonts are Google fonts, which are available for open-use and web safe on different platforms and devices.

Our goal is to make the design easy on the eyes and easy to navigate, thus aiming for a minimalistic approach.
