Earthenware Stove
Cagayan Valley
year Unknown
RBCC Gallery
The Itawit people of Cagayan, who were later renamed Itawes in Spanish, are most likely the source of this earthenware stove. The primary source of income is farming. The primary staple, rice, is produced commercially. They also cultivate other agricultural goods like tobacco, coffee, corn, and peanuts. They also grow domesticated animals such as cattle, hogs, carabaos, and chickens. Some work in fishing, forestry, hunting, and related fields. Some are employed by food processing companies and cigar and cigarette industries. The earthenware stove was most likely derived from the pre-colonial to the colonial era of the Spanish.
